Jim Cook | Pastor
Jim and Roxie were married in 1973. They have six children (five girls and a boy) and six grandchildren. They moved to Beaumont from La Mesa, California in 1987 and shortly after became members at Fellowship in the Pass. Jim worked for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Riverside County Fire Department, City of Beaumont, and finished his career in Moreno Valley. In total Jim served 36 years with CDF and retired in 2006. During the period of time he spent with CDF in Cabazon, he grew a heart for the people and community of Cabazon. In 2000, Jim felt a calling to begin working with Steve Mattison, who started the Cabazon Fellowship as a mission church. Jim has served Cabazon Fellowship for 23 years, and in 2005 took over as the Director. On November 21, 2021 Cabazon Fellowship officially became a church and Jim was recognized as the pastor. Jim also serves as the president of the California Fire Chaplain Association. He is the president of the Federation of Fire Chaplains, and he also serves as a chaplain for the Riverside County Fire Department and the Cal Fire Local #2881 Union Chaplain. In 2013, Jim received a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Boyce College. Jim and his wife Roxie are grateful for the many ways God has worked in Cabazon Fellowship and are eager for more people to hear and believe in Jesus Christ.
